FAQs

How do your consultations work?

Our consultations are 45-minute video calls which are completely free! The consultation is an opportunity to learn more about your styling needs. We will go through a questionnaire to learn more about you, your goals, personal style and budget. We will then dive into our pricing, recommended services and next steps. The client agreement does not come until after the consultation and there is no commitment until the agreement is signed.

What is expected from client?

I expect my clients to be timely in their responses - especially when it pertains to Virtual Style Board feedback. If you take longer than 2 weeks to provide feedback on your Style Board, your project will get deprioritized. Unfortunately, clothing items sell out quickly and so response delays will affect ability to obtain preferred items.

Delays in responses may also affect appointment dates. Response delays of a month+ will result in project close-out.

What is your rate?

As of January 1st, 2023, we charge $130 an hour. The number of hours is determined by the service offering.

For example, the number of hours for a closet edit appointment plus a Virtual Style Board containing 6 outfits ( takes an hour for 2 complete outfits) plus a clothing review appointment, is 5 hours.

5hrs + $130 = $650 for the project

Clothing is NOT included in this rate and you will need to set aside a separate budget for that.

How do I pay?

I will invoice you via a Quickbooks email after each appointment or deliverable is complete. I expect payment within 15 days of sending the invoice.

I have SPECIAL SIZING NEEDS OR A UNIQUE BODY TYPE, CAN I STILL WORK WITH YOU?

We will happily work with you and try our hardest to find clothing that works well for your body type. Please note, sizing availability can be limited depending on stock and seasonality. Therefore, it may take more time and multiple rounds to find just the right items for you!

Do you only work with women?

Nope! Men make up 30% of our clientele and we greatly enjoy working with them.

We also work with gender non-conforming and non-binary individuals - please call that out in your consultation so we can better serve you! Our goal is to make everyone feel comfortable and confident in their clothing.

How far will you travel to see clients?

We are located in the Bay Area Peninsula and will drive around the Bay Area to see clients for in-person styling. My travel fee starts at 1/4 of the rate at 15 min intervals after 45 minutes. For ex: if your location will take 45 mins for me to travel to, I will add $32.50 to the invoice, if your location takes 1 hr to get to, I will add $65 and so on.

We will travel out of the region under special circumstances. Client is expected to cover the cost of flights and accommodations. Otherwise, we are happy to style you virtually!

What is a closet Audit?

A closet audit is an appointment where we enter your home to evaluate your current wardrobe. This is a judgement-free appointment and is meant as an opportunity to cleanse what is no longer working for you. In this appointment, we will also document items that we could incorporate into your new wardrobe. The main objective is to get a sense of your current clothing so we can fill the gaps in your Virtual Style Board or when shopping for new items.

I am very picky about my personal style, is a stylist right for me?

We work with a lot of self-proclaimed “picky” clients and can easily accommodate. Our goal is not to impose our own personal styles on you, but to help you pull out your personal style from within. Please call out any non-negotiables on the call (ie: leopard print, flats, patterns, etc).

We do advise that you approach this process with an open mind. After all, you are hiring a stylist for a reason! While you may not be comfortable off-the-bat, the stylist has your back and may want to push you out of your comfort zone a little bit to get you in amazing looking new clothes.

Do you get paid commission for pushing brands?

When styling clients, we prioritize their sizing, style preference and budget. We do have partnerships with several brands which may allow us early access to items, store relationships and sometimes, small commissions. If you see an affiliate link in your Style Board, that means they are a brand partner and we will get a small commission if you choose to purchase that item. Rest assured, we are not pushing any specific brand and are always keeping your interest top-of-mind.

How long does the process take and when can we get started?

The timeline will vary depending on the suite of services we proceed with. That said, most projects take 1.5-2 months - this allows time for appointments, clothing orders, building of style boards, and returns.

I am currently booking 2 weeks out. Read more about expediting services below.

I have an urgent need for an outfit because of travel or an event. Can you accommodate?

We do our best to accommodate your event timing and with enough runway, we can always deliver an outfit recommendation for your special event. If you reach out within 10 days of your event needing an outfit, an expedited delivery fee of $100 will be applied to your invoice.

This fee is to address the time needed to de-prioritize other clients and prioritize your project.

What services do you provide?

We provide an array of services and can tailor them to suit your custom needs. Below is a short-list:

Do you work virtually?

Yes! With our modern technology, we have the ability to style you from anywhere. In our consultation, mention that this is the preferred method and we can go from there.

How do you handle returns from Virtual Styling?

I will happily order and return all items on your behalf. It is a part of delivering a great service to you. That said, I will clock my time conducting these returns and exchanges and the charge will appear on your invoice. Typically, this service cost will not be more than hour.

What is the best way to get in contact with you?

Email is always the best way to get in touch. Please stick to email as a new client, to sort out business agreements, if you have clothing inquiries, if you’re providing style board feedback, etc. If you are an existing client, texting about meeting logistics or asking quick questions is appropriate.

If you are an existing client and you’d like to text me to ask style questions about your wardrobe, as you are shopping, etc. I will charge my hourly rate and invoice you every 30 minutes of my time.

Do you take clients on a tightER budget?

Yes - our philosophy is that you can look and feel great on any budget. We love the challenge of mixing and matching to maximize your wardrobe and teach you what items you should invest in vs. what items you shouldn’t.

Whatever your budget is, we are always respectful of it and will only pull items and looks within your budget range.

That said, if you plan to get a variety of new items for work/life, we recommend you set aside no lower than $1,700 for clothing spend.

I have special circumstances that make dressing me unique, can I still work with you?

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, or age. If you have special circumstances, such as religious modesty, please just call that out in your consultation and we are happy to accommodate.
